Прошлой весной хэтчбек Cupra Leon пережил плановое обновление, которое еще больше отдалило его от исходной модели Seat Leon. Тем временем гоночная версия Cupra Leon VZ TCR победила в европейской туринговой серии TCR, а также выиграла чемпионаты в Британии, Мексике и Франции. По случаю гоночного триумфа подготовлена одноименная гражданская спецверсия Leon VZ TCR, получившая новый турбомотор от дебютировавшего этим летом автомобиля Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 50. Более того, такой же двигатель достался и «обычному» хот-хэтчу Cupra Leon VZ.
Cupra Leon VZ TCR стала мощнейшей переднеприводной моделью бренда за всю историю. Двухлитровая турбочетверка развивает 325 л.с. и 420 Нм, работая в паре с семиступенчатым преселективным «роботом» DSG. Эта связка обеспечивает экстремальному хэтчбеку разгон до «сотни» за 5,3 с. Заявлено, что максимальную скорость решили не ограничивать, но точный показатель не назван. Для сравнения: VW Golf GTI Edition 50 может набрать «сотню» за 5,5 с, а его электронный «ошейник» срабатывает на отметке 270 км/ч. Вместе с мощным мотором Leon VZ TCR обрел адаптивное шасси, электронно-управляемую блокировку переднего дифференциала, адаптивные амортизаторы и тормоза Akebono с шестипоршневыми механизмами.
Кроме того, предусмотрены передний сплиттер, накладки на пороги, заднее антикрыло и диффузор, а также четыре выхлопных патрубка с медной окраской. Специальные облегченные колеса обуты в цепкие шины шириной 245 мм. Также появилась эксклюзивная графика на бортах, карбоновые накладки на зеркала, шильдик Cupra из темного хрома под капотом и надпись VZ TCR на багажной двери.
Снимков салона нет, но внутри обещаны передние сиденья CUPBucket с четырехточечными ремнями безопасности. На дверной панели лазером выгравирован порядковый номер экземпляра. Задний диван съемный, что позволяет снизить массу автомобиля на время трековых заездов.
Помимо экстремальной спецверсии Leon VZ TCR, анонсирован лимитированный хот-хэтч Leon VZ с аналогичным двигателем и четырьмя медными выхлопными патрубками. Также заявлены некоторые внешние изменения, но подробностей о них пока нет. Вероятно, Leon VZ без приставки TCR обошелся без самых радикальных усовершенствований.
Тираж Cupra Leon VZ TCR ограничат на уровне 499 штук, производство стартует в конце следующего года. Leon VZ с аналогичным турбомотором будет выпущен лимитированной серией в 1500 единиц и выйдет на рынок уже в первом квартале 2026 года.
